ΓΑΣΤΡΙΚΟ ΜΑΝΙΚΙ (SLEEVE ΓΑΣΤΡΕΚΤΟΜΗ)

It’s about a second restrictive surgery where a portion of the stomach is removed along its longitudinal axis resulting, of the one part, to shrink of its storage capacity and of the other part, to the removal of cells secreting ghrelin, the so-called hormone of hunger because the last one is caused in the level of the central nervous system. Therefore, patients undergoing sleeve gastrectomy, eat less without feeling hunger. The surgery is being laparoscopically performed and lasts approximately one hour and a half. The postoperative problems are rare and mainly concern the gastric fistula. The operation unlike the band contains no material implanted in the body.
